In life and in work — Hon. Dalmas Otieno Anyango stood for excellence. That was also evident in his grooming, in his suits and in his sharply trimmed hairstyle.
Across Migori and South Nyanza, he lobbied for the first university in the region. That's Rongo University.
Before modern markets became mainstream policy, Dalmas saw the necessity that built the foundation for both Rongo and Awendo markets.
Always for development, he stood on the side that he believed in. Sometimes with controversies. Other times with the rest of us — the majority.
While always principled, Hon. Dalmas Otieno often asked for transformative leadership: both locally and nationally.
We are deeply at pains following his passing. And his example shows what's possible when the people's welfare is put at the centre.
May the development economist inspire us to seek and achieve more development — for Migori and for the nation.
RIP waziri. RIP mheshimiwa. Till we meet again.
