Good Afternoon friends,
As we head into the weekend, I want to share something that has always spoken to me deeply.
Forgiveness is the language of children, and perhaps it is a lesson we all need to learn again.
One of the most powerful art pieces I have ever come across is Love by Ukrainian artist Alexander Milov, first shown at Burning Man. It shows two adults sitting back to back after a disagreement, closed off and unwilling to yield. Yet inside their wire frames live two children, reaching out through the silence, longing to hold each other again.
That image stays with me because it feels so true of life. As we grow older, we gain wisdom and experience, but we also pick up pride and resentment. In conflict, those walls rise quickly. We fold our arms, turn our backs, and insist we are right. But deep down, the child within us does not care about winning an argument. That child just wants peace.
Children remind us of our truest nature. They quarrel and in the very next moment are laughing and playing again as if nothing happened. They show us that forgiveness is natural, connection is instinctive, and love is more important than pride.
So as you step into the weekend, remember that sculpture. Remember the child within you who still longs to reach out. Maybe, just maybe, listening to that child can bring more healing, more laughter, and more peace.
Wishing you all a happy and restful weekend ahead.
