Position: Faith & Community Development Officer (1 Position)
Organization: Kelvin Chabogo Foundation
Location: Mtwapa Office (with fieldwork in Kwale and Kilifi)
Reports to: Program Director.
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (Report to the office in Mtwapa before field visits).
Positions Available: 2 (1 for Kwale, 1 for Kilifi).
Status: 1-Year Renewable Contract
Age Limit: 25–35 years
I. Job Summary
The Kelvin Chabogo Foundation seeks two passionate, faith-driven, and community-focused individuals to serve as Faith & Community Development Officers in Kwale and Kilifi. The role requires a strong theological foundation, discipleship experience, and a compassionate heart for ministry and service.
This position covers:
1. Widow empowerment
2. School missions
3. Prison missions
4. Other community development activities as assigned.
II. Key Responsibilities
A. Discipleship & Spiritual Development
1. Lead weekly discipleship sessions for widows, students, and community members.
2. Provide prayer, biblical counseling, and spiritual mentorship.
3. Facilitate Bible studies grounded in the teachings of Jesus Christ.
4. Promote spiritual maturity and community transformation through Christ-centred discipleship.
B. Community Engagement & Missions
1. Organize and lead School Missions to reach and disciple students.
2. Participate in Prison Missions, offering teaching, discipleship, and reintegration support for inmates.
3. Identify and register widows and orphans in need of support.
4. Verify eligibility through proper documentation (death certificates, burial photos, referrals).
5. Engage churches, schools, and local leaders for community buy-in.
6. Conduct home visits and monitor spiritual and social progress.
C. Financial Literacy & Empowerment
1. Train widows and vulnerable groups on budgeting, saving, and small business management.
2. Introduce sustainable livelihood projects such as farming or small enterprises.
3. Support the development of community-led income-generating initiatives.
D. Reporting & Coordination
1. Report to the Mtwapa office each morning before field deployment.
2. Submit weekly reports on discipleship activities, school and prison missions, and community progress.
3. Maintain consistent communication with the Program Director.
III. Mandatory Requirements:
1. Age between 25 and 35 years.
2. Diploma or Degree in Theology or Community Development from a recognized institution.
3. Completion of The Way and The Walk program (or willingness to complete it after hiring).
4. Experience in leading or facilitating discipleship programs.
5. Residence within Greater Mombasa Area (Kwale, Kilifi, or Mombasa counties).
6. Proficiency in MS Word, email, and reporting systems.
7. Compassionate, humble, and committed to service.
8. Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
IV. Preferred Qualifications:
1. Alumni of Legacy Bible Institute encouraged to apply. (NOT A MUST)
2. Experience working with widows, youth, inmates, or other vulnerable groups.
3. Background in social work, counseling, or community development.
