HOW KENYANS ARE SECRETLY RECRUITED INTO RUSSIA’S WAR
A secret recruitment network is quietly moving young Kenyans to Russia to fight in the Ukraine war. Recruitment is done strictly through referrals—no open adverts. It started in Nairobi and has spread to Kisumu, Nakuru, Eldoret, Kiambu, Murang’a, Nyeri, and Meru.
Recruits are fully aware they are joining the Russian army. However, to bypass Kenyan airport security, they are forced to sign contracts for fake civilian jobs like drivers, mechanics, or cleaners. This is done to hide their true mission from authorities.
Once recruited, victims are locked in Nairobi hotels for up to two weeks, isolated from family and coached on what to say. Departure times are kept secret. Many families only realize their loved ones are gone when it’s already too late.
The promise: KSh 280,000 monthly salary and a KSh 1.6 million bonus after training. Reality: KSh 600,000 is deducted by agents, and the money cannot be accessed in Ukraine. If you die, the money is lost.
Training lasts just two weeks before deployment to the front lines. A group of 15 Kenyans was recruited in December. Eight were deployed—and all went offline immediately. No calls. No messages. Nothing.
Bodies are not recovered. Many are buried in mass graves. Families never get closure.
Kenyans are dying in Donetsk and near Kyiv under heavy drone attacks. Nigerians and other Africans are also being pulled into this syndicate.
This is not opportunity.
This is a death sentence disguised as a job offer.
Kenyans must be warned.
