President Ruto hits back at critics questioning his European tour.~ I was looking at the headlines in one of the newspapers, and saw people saying 'Oh, Ruto is travelling again.' I wish they knew the kind of schedule that I have, what I've come to do. I have not come here in Europe as a tourist or to waste time. I have come to make sure we achieve certain things. I am the chief diplomat of our country.

Kenyan man identified as Kamau wa Kisumu has accused Senator Karen Nyamu of failing to settle a bill of Ksh 30K, at his small hotel near Mama Lucy Hospital.

According to Kamau, the Senator visited the hotel and ordered food for several people, including fries, soda, and other meals. He says he welcomed the visit with excitement, seeing it as a blessing and a chance for his business to gain visibility from a prominent politician.

Kamau claims Karen Nyamu asked for his M-Pesa number and promised to pay later, but days have passed and she has stopped answering his calls.

In response, Karen Nyamu said she deliberately made people eat at Kamau wa Kisumu’s hotel for free as an act of revenge, alleging that Kamau had previously appeared in several media interviews criticizing both her.

CS Lee Kinyanjui~ For those who have placed a bet on Kenya failing, I’m sorry to inform you that you will lose that bet. Kenya is sailing on the right side of history. As a person who sits close to the nation’s dashboard, I can confirm that the fundamentals are sound, reliable, and promising. The deliberate distortion of data and perception for political gain is a short-term and selfish ideology that does little to advance our collective progress.

Imagine that this is an excerpt from a budget speech read by Treasury CS John Mbadi yesterday. The speech begins with these fake statistics.

As per the KNBS, only 45.8 million bags of maize were produced in 2025, but the CS blatantly inflates that number to 67 million bags. The 34 million bags for 2022 are a correct figure since it is based on a 90kg bag measurement. For 2025, he uses the 50 kg bag measurement to create a false narrative that production has nearly doubled since 2022.

The claim that a 2kg packet of maize flour was selling at KSh 250 in 2022 is also completely false. The average price of a 2kg packet of maize flour was KSh 180.8 in September 2022, while it currently retails at KSh 165. This is obviously not a massive reduction.

If the CS can engage in such unprofessional conduct, how can we trust anything else that he says or does? This guy is politicising economic issues, which is extremely dangerous. Such lies will come to bite the regime hard. You can't lie about money and get away with it.
