When Dr. Nancy Macharia was heading toward retirement, she made sure that P1 and secondary school teachers were hired before 2024. Most of those recruited were teachers who graduated from Murang’a, Kiambu, Nyandarua, and Nyeri — meaning that the Mt. Kenya region now has very few unemployed teachers, apart from those who graduated in 2025.
Hon. Melly, please help your people too. As the Chair of the Education Committee, don’t look at where someone comes from — just give everyone a fair chance. You never know, those jobless teachers you help today might be your blessing tomorrow.
