September 17th, 2019
It was the day we launched our studio in our home—me (kamotho mtoto WA kasisi) together with my wife Rahab (mwari WA mukurinu). The launch was live on Facebook because when a God-given talent burns inside you, you cannot hide it.
That video was from 2019, when the radio had just turned three months old. But on February 14th, 2020, thieves broke into our home after they heard that we had a radio station inside. Kang'ong’ori FM had become very popular across Nyandarua, and everyone knew about it. Many people misunderstood us, even thinking we were involved in drugs, but in reality, it was just the power of the radio ministry. The thieves stole everything, and that was the end of Kang'ong’ori FM.
Through the recognition of Kang'ong’ori, I was later called to Mwinjoyo FM in Nakuru (a gospel station), where I served for two years. Unfortunately, once again, thieves came in after a night show we had broadcast live on Facebook. I ask myself: Why do they always follow my talent just to destroy it?
Later, my wife was also invited to Mawiko FM Nairobi and Thayu FM Nairobi, but even she faced similar struggles.
Yet, I believe strongly that these are not just talents—they are gifts from God, and as the Bible says:
> “Being confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
(Philippians 1:6)
And also:
> “This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.”
(1 John 5:14)
We believe that one day, God will establish us again in radio, so that even our children may grow up with faith, seeing that what you truly desire and commit to God always comes to pass—no matter the opposition.
When we had Kang’ong’ori FM, we would tell our children to keep quiet for just one hour until the show ended, and they managed to do so. I guess even today, some people may never fully understand!
Oh Lord, you who gave us these talents, let them live on and become a testimony to many.
