Back in 2017, Brian Otieno from Kisumu was just like many of us — jobless, frustrated, and used by politicians to attend rallies, chant slogans, and sometimes even throw stones… all for a few coins and empty promises. 😔💔
But 2020 changed everything.
Locked down with nothing but a Tecno phone, Brian started watching YouTube tutorials on photography & content creation. Inspired by local creators like Mungai Eve and Thee Pluto, he began posting real stories from his neighborhood on Facebook under the name “Kisumu Vibes.”
He showcased boda riders, mama mboga, and youth hustlers — all with positive captions in Sheng and Dholuo. His content was raw, but real.
📈 In 6 months, he hit 10K followers.
🎥 In 1 year, he was making promo videos for local businesses.
💰 In 2 years, he was earning over KES 50,000/month — managing pages, shooting content, and training others.
Today, Brian refuses to be used for chaos or political games.
“Leo ni content tu na kazi. Sio mawe, sio maandamano. Wacha social media ikulipe, usitumike.” 👊
