Now, from the Samburu maasai, a wife is given four names!
1. Nkitok,
2. Ng'oroyieni ,
3. Ntomononi and,
4. Mparratut.
Each name has a meaning
1. *Enkitok* .
Literally, in samburu, it means, The boss.
In samburu culture, each wife constructs her own hut. Enkaji. As a result, anything that goes into that house, natesheta enopeny, shall be under her authority. Even if the husband comes ho.e from esokor, fending, everything brought home shall be administered under the authority of the wife. Enopeny enkaji.
Cows in the kraal are under the authority and protection of the man. Once slaughtered, the meat taken into the house, shall be under the authority of the wife, Enkitok, The Boss...!.
2. *Eng'oroyioni* .
The word 'Eng'oroyioni, is derived from the word, 'Entang'oroi ' . The only person who can say No to the head of the house. It also means hard headed. Nagol kwe. Entang'oroi. Eng'oroyioni.
3. Ntomononi, or Entomononi.
It means mother of all. Considered to ever in the mood of caring to all as a mother. It means, mother of all.
4. *Mparratut* .
In samburu, it is considered that, a woman hardly gets anything right. Sometimes, it believed that you are right, but believed that they aren't right most of the time.
Other meanings.
*Taparra* means, from the beginning.
*Etut* , means she misses the point.
*Mparratut* , means, have been missing the point from the beginning.
So, the names are used depending on the occasion.
