THE ENERGY ARTERY: KENYA & TANZANIA LINK UP FOR GAS
In a move that promises to "unclog" the regional industrial pulse, Kenya and Tanzania have officially launched a joint feasibility study for a Natural Gas Pipeline linking Dar es Salaam to Mombasa. This follows a breakthrough agreement to eliminate trade bottlenecks by the end of May 2026.
We are moving from "Fuel Dependence" to "Energy Integration." With the gas pipeline expected to unlock $500 million in new investments, the "Blue Economy" at the Coast is about to get a high-pressure boost. Meanwhile, Nairobi motorists are enjoying a slight "Fiscal Relief" as the 8% VAT on fuel continues to hold prices at approximately Sh197.60.

Today is the D-Day for the ODM Party and the Registrar of Political Parties.
As Per the PPDT's ruling on Feb 12, the respondents were given 7 days to file their responses to Sifuna’s urgent application. That window closes today.
Sifuna remains the legal Secretary General by court order. If the party failed to file a "water-tight" constitutional justification for his ouster by close of business today, his lawyers are expected to move for a permanent stay of his removal on Feb 26.

The Sh80 billion "Cooperation Agreement" signed at State House two days ago is already in a legal "bottleneck."
Two public interest litigants (Bernard Peter and Christine Gathoni) filed an urgent suit to freeze the deal. They argue it is a "de facto" transfer of core county functions that bypassed public participation and the Nairobi County Assembly.
As you noted, the "surrender" of functions is being viewed as a sign of administrative failure. The court’s decision on whether to grant a stay will determine if Sakaja can spend a single cent of that Sh80 billion.
