A man found an eagle's egg. He didn't know it was an eagle's egg and kept the egg with all the other eggs which the hen was hatching. After some time the eaglet hatched with all the other chicks and grew up with them.

All his life the eagle did what the chicks did, thinking he was a chicken. He scratched the earth for worms and insects. He clucked and cackled. And He would thrash his wings and fly very proudly, a few feet in the air.

But he laughed at these thoughts and said to himself, "C'mon, You are being too full of yourself. Be happy being a chicken because that's who you are."

He continued living a life of a chicken. Years passed and the eagle grew very old. One day he saw a magnificent bird above him in the cloudless sky. It glided in graceful majesty among the powerful wind currents, with scarcely a beat on his strong golden wings. The old eagle looked up in awe and thought to himself, "This magnificent bird is like a king"

He asked his neighbour, "Who is this bird??"

The chicken said, "The bird which you see flying above is an eagle. He is the king of the sky. He flies there. But don't look at him. We belong to the earth. And we can never ever aspire to be like an eagle."

This old eagle heard him and said, "Yes, you are right. How can I become an eagle?"

The old eagle never realised the greatness within him. He lived and died like a chicken.

The moral of the story: You become what you believe you are so aim high and be all that you can be. If you ever dream to become an eagle, follow your dreams. Don't listen to people like the chickens. Be all that you are meant to be!
