"HELLO TO OUR BELOVED BROTHERS AND SISTERS!!
I felt it was right sharing this, only if you're concerned. 🙏
I suggest that whenever we mention the term “Luo Festival,” our minds should engage critically and thoughtfully.
From what I’ve observed recently, the event seems to have shifted focus. Some of the current organizers shouldn’t even be referred to as promoters or investors—they appear more like individuals using the platform to showcase their personal achievements and wealth.😭
Yes, it’s understandable that we want to earn from ticket sales. But who are the people buying those tickets? The fans, right? Then shouldn’t we also take their views into account when planning? Strategic planning should be done in a way that leaves fans with no complaints. If the public forces you back to the drawing board, you’ll have no choice but to consult widely next time you're organizing an event like the Luo Festival.
On the matter of supporting female artists:
Let’s be honest, there was only one Lady Maureen, and may she rest in peace. Her legacy is unmatched, and while we may never replace her, we have a duty to nurture the next generation of female artists.
Right now, Aqueeno Chogo has been putting in the work, and no other female artist has reached her level at the moment. So how can we release a performance lineup without including even a single woman? Kata mana Suzanna Owiyo be pod ukia yawa? It’s simply not right. Na mkajaza ma Djs wenye watafanya show iboeke sana because we Luos, belive in live performances not dancing to a CD.
As a producer, I understand how the industry works and fairness matters. EN MAMA NI POK ABEDO GI CAPITAL MOROMO manyalo loko godo kosa maru mutimo gi, ang'eyo ni puonjo japesa kain gi pieri nono tek, but akili to nitiere and I thank God for it, not taking for granted. The Luo Festival must continue to be a leading platform that supports and uplifts our artists, both men and women as we celebrate and enjoy the tunes from the renowned artists kaka udwarono.
To the current organizers: please take this matter seriously and deal with it once and for all. Meanwhile let's focus on the remaining days. "BI GI JAMIENDI"
