Athlete Profile: Rosemary Longisa
From Nala Track Club-Kenya

Rosemary “Rozzy” Longisa is a Kenyan middle-distance runner currently competing for Washington State University (WSU) in the United States.

She is a graduate of Nala Track Club, a female-only athletics training camp in Nyahururu, Kenya, founded by Olympian Mary Ngugi. The club focuses on developing young female athletes through structured coaching, education, and mentorship.

At WSU, Longisa has made an immediate impact:
• Broke the WSU women’s indoor mile record with a time of 4:41.93, and later improved it to 4:40.09.
• Ran 2:07.71 in the 800m, placing her among the top three fastest in WSU program history.
• Qualified in the 1500m at the 2025 NCAA West First Round with a time of 4:16.95.
• Won the WSU Alumni Open 4K cross country race in 12:54.4, setting a new meet record.

Longisa represents a growing number of athletes coming through structured Kenyan development programs like Nala Track Club and progressing to international-level competition through U.S. college athletics.

Crazy World!!! A man survived hours with a knife in his head after a fight.

In Brazil, a 39-year-old motorcycle taxi driver named Juacelo Nunes de Oliveira survived a horrifying ordeal after being stabbed four times during a bar fight: Three times in the torso, one wound puncturing his lung, and once in the head. A 30-centimetre kitchen knife pierced just above his left eyebrow, passed dangerously close to his eye, through his mouth, and lodged in his lower jaw. Incredibly, Juacelo travelled nearly 100 kilometres to a hospital in Teresina with the knife still embedded in his skull. For almost three hours, the blade remained lodged before surgeons successfully removed it without damaging his sight, smell, or taste. Against all odds, he recovered quickly and was discharged from the hospital just five days later, shocking doctors with his resilience and leaving the world in disbelief at his survival.
