Komarock Works Managing Director and Commitment to Community–Kenya Board Chairperson, Amb. (Hon.) Shawn Gitau Kariuki, today led representatives from both institutions in a strategic partnership meeting with Recoup Initiative ahead of the upcoming Community Cleanup Event scheduled for Saturday, 5th September 2026.

The partnership will see Komarock Works provide photography and documentation services during the event, while Commitment to Community–Kenya will support participants through the donation of glucose and drinking water.

The meeting brought together the Founder and Director of Recoup Initiative, Madam Emelda; Programs Manager, Madam Maryer; Co-Founder, Mr. Michael Mango; and the Programs and Projects Director of Commitment to Community–Kenya, Madam Victoria.

Following the partnership discussions, the team paid a courtesy visit to the Deputy OCS of Soweto Police Station, where they formally shared details of the planned cleanup exercise and extended an invitation to the Administration Police to offer security in the event. As a gesture of appreciation, a crate of soda was donated to the Administration Office.

Community transformation is achieved when individuals, organizations, and institutions come together for a common purpose. We remain committed to building partnerships that promote environmental conservation, community engagement, and social responsibility.

From 24th August to 29th August 2026, Commitment to Community-Kenya, together with our partners, will be carrying out 7 Days of Acts of Service aimed at bringing hope, support, and smiles to those in need.

This year, we have committed to supporting 7 vulnerable families during the 7-day campaign. Each day will feature a special guest who will join us in serving the community and inspiring positive change.
