🇺🇸🇰🇷 US CANCELS MAJOR SOUTH KOREA MARINE EXERCISES OVER IRAN WAR

South Korea says the United States has cancelled the upcoming Ssangyong joint amphibious landing exercises, which had been scheduled for next month, due to constraints on the availability of US forces linked to the ongoing war in Iran.

The large-scale biennial exercise normally brings together US and South Korean Marines, warships, aircraft and ground forces to strengthen combined amphibious operations.

According to South Korea's Marine Corps, the US Marine Corps had informed Seoul that its ability to provide forces for the exercise would be limited because of the situation in the Middle East. The two allies are reportedly continuing consultations on whether the drills can be resumed.

The cancellation comes just days after another US-South Korea military exercise, Ulchi Freedom Shield, was significantly reduced.

Four Bodies Seen at Helicopter Crash Site

Four bodies have so far been seen at the helicopter crash site at the bottom of Mt. Ololokwe, reportedly burnt beyond recognition.

The full number of casualties remains unknown as responders and local morans continue efforts at the difficult-to-reach scene.

So far, four bodies have been confirmed seen at the crash site. Further details on the identity of the victims and the circumstances surrounding the crash are yet to be established.
