Deputy President Kithure Kindiki Challenges Employers to Entrust Youth with Africa’s Transformation.

Deputy President Prof. Kithure Kindiki has urged employers across Africa to integrate youth, women, and persons with disabilities into the workforce, saying they hold the key to business transformation and continental prosperity.

Speaking at the Africa Employers Summit in Nairobi, the DP stressed that Africa’s success in the 21st century will be defined by technology, public–private partnerships, and the energy of its young people. The Africa of the 21st century will be powered by young people. It is the Africa we must dream of and actualise in our lifetime.

The Deputy President called on the private sector to move beyond policy into practical job creation, flexible workplaces, and social support systems such as mental health and recreation. He emphasised that today’s youth demand a new model of work that prioritises innovation over tradition.

The era of tie-and-suit workers could be coming to an end. Young people are saying you don’t need a suit to be productive.

DP Kindiki concluded by affirming that businesses that embrace the aspirations of Africa’s youth will become the engines of shared prosperity and social transformation.
