“A Cry for the Daughters”
We buried her dreams in silence again,
Another daughter, swallowed by pain,
Her name a whisper, lost in the rain
How many more must die in vain?
We bleed in the streets, unheard, unseen,
While justice sleeps where hope had been,
Our mothers weep, our sisters fall,
And still, you do nothing at all.
We are not shadows, we are not ghosts,
We’re the beating hearts that love the most,
We birthed a nation, raised it tall,
Why must we beg not to fall?
Oh government, do you not see,
This blood, this grief, it pleads to be free,
End this silence, this war on our lives,
So daughters may grow, not just survive.
