Two women are behind bars after a multi-agency team at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) foiled an alleged attempt to smuggle 658 grams of gold out of the country.

The two suspects, Mahamed Shukri Abdulahi and Sabriye Farhiyo Hussein, were intercepted in the wee hours of September 4, 2026, as they prepared to board an Emirates flight to Dubai.

But their journey was abruptly halted when officers subjected them to a search.

One of the suspects, Mahamed Shukri Abdullahi, was found with a gold bar weighing 541 grams, cleverly concealed in her hair, wrapped with a hairband and tucked beneath her hijab.

Her accomplice, Sabriye Farhiyo Hussein, had also taken no chances. She had concealed a gold pellet weighing 116.79 grams inside her bra, bringing the total weight of the recovered suspected gold to approximately 658 grams.

They were taken into custody and are undergoing processing pending arraignment, as investigations continue.

This is Igho Tiny Ubiribo,43 year- old, British-Nigerian businessman and influencer.

On March this year,...he underwent a pe**le filler/enlargement procedure in Bangkok.

About 40 ml of hyaluronic acid and lidocaine were injected.

After the procedure, he went for a massage with his wife, to taste if the new "nyayo" was behaving right...

He developed chest pain and collapsed twice, before being rushed to Sukhumvit Hospital.

Doctors suspected a pulmonary embolism, but he lost consciousness before the recommended CT scan could be performed.

Attempts to resuscitate him reportedly continued for more than 100 minutes, but he died on March 6.

A UK postmortem by pathologist John du Parcq found cellular material in Ubiribo’s lungs that matched the hyaluronic acid used in the injections.

The finding was consistent with a pulmonary embolism and also corresponded with the Thai autopsy findings.

Coroner Jean Harkin subsequently concluded that, the pulmonary embolism was caused by complications from the cosmetic procedure.

Sometimes I wonder if being known in Kenya has become a punishment.

Why is it that the moment some people recognize me, the price suddenly doubles? 😭 I can’t even comfortably walk into a salon anymore. I have to send my PA first to ask for the normal price, because once Akothee appears, suddenly the price has developed wings! , what makes you think I should have my own prices with the same service? Do youvexpect me as a regular client or a one off jackpot?

Even at the airport, I’m beginning to fear greetings. Someone says, “Hallo Akothee!” and before I finish smiling, “Tuko njaa…” 😭 Someone pushes my trolley for two minutes and suddenly I owe them something.

One day in Mombasa, I got completely lost because of diversions. I asked two gentlemen to simply show me the way. They kindly helped me, and immediately afterwards: “Tupe kitu basi.” 😭😭 Yoooo!

It’s becoming exhausting when ordinary human kindness starts feeling like a transaction. Sometimes I just want someone to greet me because they are genuinely happy to see me. Help me because I’m lost. Smile at me without expecting anything in return.

Not every “hello Akothee” should come with an invoice. 😭🤣

I am tired . No one pays me for being famous I work to earn every peny 💀
