Money was not our concern… stress ilikuwa kuoga na kufanya homework. The friends were real and loyal too ❤️.

Back then, we didn't have much, but we had something money can't easily buy today—peace of mind and genuine connections. We could share a snack, laugh over the smallest things, help each other with homework and go home happy.

There was no pressure to have the best phone, the nicest clothes or enough money for everything. We simply enjoyed what we had, and our friendships were not based on what someone could offer.

Life may be more advanced now, but sometimes I really miss that simplicity. 🥹❤️

Good old days… we didn't know how good we had it. 😩❤️

Wengine wetu tukiulizwa k**a tuko sawa, huwa tunasema “tuko sawa,” because hata tukisema hatuko sawa, hakuna wa kusaidia, na hakuna kitu kitakachobadilika katika situation tuliyo nayo.

So afadhali nikwambie niko sawa, kwa sababu hata nikikuambia siko sawa, what exactly are you going to do to change the situation?

Sometimes “I’m fine” doesn’t mean everything is actually fine. It simply means I’ve learned to carry what I’m going through quietly because explaining it won’t necessarily change anything.

We keep going, we keep hoping, and we keep trusting that somehow, someday, things will get better. ❤️‍🩹

No retreat. We keep moving. 🙏🏾

Sometimes what looks like laziness is actually exhaustion, pain, pressure, or someone quietly trying to survive a battle you know nothing about.

Be careful judging people by what you can see. You may never know what they’re carrying. ❤️

There’s something about this that hits differently.

Parents really used to call a photographer on a completely random Sunday afternoon just to take pictures of us looking ashy, dusty and unbothered. 😂😂

No birthday.
No graduation.
No special event.
Sometimes we had just come from church, changed clothes and were sitting outside minding our own business — then suddenly:

“Come, let’s take a photo.” 📸😂

And you had NO choice! You’d be standing there in your Sunday best, probably with your little siblings, trying your absolute best to look serious because smiling too much was apparently not allowed. 😭😂

Then the photographer would take maybe 3–5 shots, tell you they would come back with the photos, and you’d wait for days to see how you looked. 😂

There were no smartphones. No selfies. No “delete that one, I don’t like my face.” You got what you got! 😭😂

And now those very pictures are some of the most precious memories we have. ❤️

Funny how we thought those were just ordinary Sunday afternoons, yet years later, they became pieces of our childhood that we would give anything to experience again.

Our parents may not have had all the technology we have today, but they understood something we sometimes forget:

Take the picture. Capture the ordinary moments. One day, those ordinary moments will become memories. ❤️📸
