A community woke up in the morning, voted for this government.
Even when there were pleadings from their former leader.

Fred Matiang'i, popularly known as "Mr. Fix It," is, in my view, the only opposition presidential candidate who combines practical solutions with the discipline and work ethic needed to move Kenya to the next level.

His record speaks for itself. He played a key role in the successful digital migration, spearheaded significant reforms in the education sector, and delivered measurable results as Cabinet Secretary for Interior. Whether one agrees with all of his decisions or not, he has demonstrated an ability to implement policy and get things done.

What stands out is that he is talking about solutions rather than relying solely on political slogans or personal attacks. Leadership should be judged on ideas, competence, and the ability to deliver results—not just rhetoric.

As voters, we should listen carefully to every candidate, examine their track records and proposals, and make informed decisions based on facts rather than emotions.

Listening to Dr. Fred Matiang'i on the Iko Nini podcast, I couldn't help but feel that Kenya has an opportunity to elect a hardworking, results-oriented president.

Since President Mwai Kibaki, we've had two presidents whose campaigns were heavily shaped by sympathy. Uhuru Kenyatta and William Ruto sought office while facing ICC cases, and later, President Ruto also built part of his political appeal around claims of neglect and sidelining by his then-boss, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

What stands out about Dr. Matiang'i is that he is not driven by politics of criticism or constant complaints, unlike some opposition figures. Perhaps this is because he has spent many years in public service. His approach is to offer solutions, practical proposals, and ideas that can restore order and improve governance. He does not appear bitter or obsessed with proving a point; instead, he seems focused on what can work for Kenya.
