YOU WANT QUICK MONEY IN AGRICULTURE? HERE’S THE SIMPLE SECRET.

Hey, ambitious Kenyan youth! I know you are tired of complex business ideas .Let's talk CROPS.

You don't need a huge shamba to start. With just 500 sq.m by this I mean 10 M by 50 M of land and access to water, you can launch a profitable venture. Our top pick? TOMATO FARMING.

Why Tomatoes?

The market is HUGE,but it's volatile. The secret to making a real kill?

STRATEGIC TIMING

Most farmers fail by harvesting when everyone else does. Be smarter. Plan your production cycle to harvest during tough seasons:

· During excess RAINS
· In extreme COLD
· In peak DROUGHTS

That’s when supply is LOW prices SKYROCKET.

“But Fidel, what about pests and diseases?”

You’re a smart digital native youth! The solutions are at your fingertips. Use the internet to:

· Identify common tomato diseases.
· Find organic and chemical control methods.
· Join online farming groups for instant advice.

Your success in agribusiness starts with a bold decision. That 500 sq.m plot is your first step to financial freedom.

THE NEW BRANCH OF AGRICULTURE IS HERE — AND IT’S NOT IN ANY TEXTBOOK! 😅

Before I break it down, let’s salute the OGs , the real branches that feed the nation:
Agronomy, Horticulture, Animal Science, Agricultural Engineering, Agribusiness, Soil Science, Extension, Forestry, Fisheries & Biotechnology.

Those are the legit ones the backbone of true farming. 💪

But now, there’s a new one roaming around the streets and social media…
👉🏽 AGRICONMANSHIP.

This one? Eish! It’s where people (mostly smooth talking “experts” and farmers) promise you heavenly farm profits but in real sense, they’re just selling air. 💨

They’ll tell you “Bro, just plant this and in 3 months you’ll be rich!”
But when the harvest season comes, you realize the only thing that grew fast was your regret. 💀

They make farming look like a TikTok trend , fun, easy and instant. But real farmers know the grind: losses, pests, droughts, sleepless nights and a lot of learning.

Farming is not for the faint-hearted it’s for thinkers, planners, and doers.

So before you jump into agriculture because someone on Facebook made it look easy, do your research. Visit farms. Talk to real farmers. Get data, not drama.

👉🏽 Farming is not a quick-money scheme it’s a long game that pays those who respect the process.

What’s your take? Have you ever met an agriconman? Let’s talk in the comments 👇🏽

Do You ever notice how most youth talk about “changing the game” but can’t tell the difference between loam soil and clay? Everyone wants to be the next big thing in tech, fashion or crypto but mention farming...😥😥 they look at you like you’ve suggested manual labor in hell. 😂😂😂 The truth is, agriculture lost its cool factor somewhere between the old-school hoes and the endless motivational quotes from ministries that never show up with real support.

Most young people think farming is punishment not opportunity. They see it as dirty, slow and outdated yet they scroll all day watching people abroad making millions from mushrooms, hydroponics and organic herbs. It’s not that they hate farming; they just hate the version of farming they were shown. The one with cracked hands, debt and no Wi-Fi. Nobody told them modern farming uses drones, sensors, apps and business plans that rival tech startups.

But here’s the plot twist: food doesn’t go out of fashion. You can’t “disrupt” hunger with hashtags. The same youth running from the soil are the ones crying about unemployment. Agriculture isn’t the problem the mindset is. Until we stop treating farming like a backup plan and start branding it like the business it truly is, we’ll keep importing success stories while our land sits idle.

These days everyone wants to be a content creator. You will hear someone brag saying they quit their banking job and now they make millions from farming.

Listen up. Farming is not a quick jackpot. You do not just wake up, plant sukuma and start making profits overnight.

Farming takes sweat patience and strategy. It is about learning when the rains fail you, when brokers play smart on you and when pests turn your cabbage into their buffet.

Do not let Instagram success stories mislead you into debts and heartbreak. Farming works and it can make you successful but only if you respect the grind. Do the math plan well and commit for the long haul.

Farming in Kenya is real business not a trend.

Don’t waste money!
This is the BEST irrigation system for your farm…

Before we dive into which irrigation system gives you the most value? Let’s ask ourselves: What really determines the “ideal” type of irrigation to use?

LETS LEARN.

1️⃣ Crop Water Requirements, this is The Foundation,
Every crop has unique water needs. For example:

Tomatoes need regular but moderate watering to avoid blossom end rot.

Maize needs high water at tasseling and grain filling stages.

Leafy greens need frequent, light watering for tender leaves.

If you don’t know your crop’s exact water demand, you might under-irrigate (leading to stress) or over-irrigate (causing diseases & wasted water).

2️⃣ Soil Type Matters Too

Sandy soils lose water quickly and require drip or frequent light irrigation.

Clay soils hold water longer better suited for sprinkler or basin methods.

3️⃣ Climate & Location Influence Choice

Hot & dry areas drip irrigation is efficient, reduces evaporation.

Humid areas overhead systems may increase fungal diseases.

4️⃣ Farm Budget & Scale

Small kitchen garden? A simple drip line is perfect.

Large commercial farm? Consider sprinklers, pivot systems or hybrid solutions.

Conclusion

The BEST irrigation system is not just about cost it’s about matching your crop needs, soil type, and climate to the right technology.

Next time before installing ask yourself , What does my crop really need?

Greenhouse farming in Kenya doesn’t have to break the bank.
With the right farming skills and affordable tools, you can grow crops faster, healthier, and smarter without spending a fortune.

Most people assume you need millions to start mmmmmmh... WRONG. What you really need is knowledge, consistency and the will to build something sustainable.

This is your sign to stop waiting and start farming smart.
Smart farming is the future. And the future is NOW.

“Greenhouse farming is too expensive.”

No, your mindset is too cheap.

While others are out here wrestling rain and begging the sun for mercy, my greenhouse tomatoes are just chilling, vibing, fruiting and making money in silence.

It’s not magic. It’s management.

Stop blaming the weather when it’s your practices that are dry.

Soil organic matter is the cornerstone of all soil-based agricultural production. In many regions across the country, soils are classified as problematic, yet the key to restoring their productivity lies in improving and maintaining optimal levels of soil organic matter.

Dear Farmers, Let’s Talk Irrigation!

Irrigation isn’t just about opening and closing gate valves—it’s about precision! For your crops to thrive and absorb nutrients efficiently, you must irrigate to field capacity.

So, what exactly is field capacity? 🤔
It’s the sweet spot where your soil holds enough water for plant uptake without waterlogging or wastage. Think of it like a sponge—wet but not dripping!

🚜 Sandy soils? Less water-holding capacity.
Loamy soils? Just right.
Clay soils? Holds more but drains slowly.

Leo sitawafunza kila kitu! Stay tuned for more insights on getting irrigation right!
