Today, the Kilgoris Law Courts issued a warrant of arrest against former Deputy County Commissioner Mr. Abdihakim Muhamud Tubato following serious allegations of intimidation and threats linked to a land dispute. The land dispute is already before the court and is an active case.

According to court records, the Konchella family reported that they are living in constant fear after a uniformed individual, allegedly linked to the former DCC, repeatedly visits their home. The family claims the individual has threatened to **kill them or force them to vacate the land, and has allegedly warned that Al-Shabaab would be brought in if they do not leave the disputed property.

The court found the allegations grave enough to warrant Mr. Tubato’s arrest as investigations continue. The family has called on security agencies to ensure their protection, citing ongoing threats and fear for their lives.

Kisii University has officially launched a Child Care and Lactation Facility aimed at supporting staff members and promoting gender-responsive care within the institution.

The facility was launched today by the Chair of Council, the Vice Chancellor, and the University Gender Committee as part of activities marking the 16 Days of Activism. The initiative is expected to provide a safe and supportive environment for staff children while addressing broader gender-related care needs.

Speaking during the launch, Vice Chancellor Mr. Ogechi announced that all upcoming university buildings will include a child care section on every floor to enhance accessibility and convenience for staff.
