A few months ago, I interacted with one of the staff members at Maono Land Limited because I wanted clarification on why my title deed was taking so long to arrive, especially since I knew I had no outstanding balance with them. At that point, I honestly felt like I had been robbed in broad daylight. NJAŨ MŨ QATAL
After a long conversation with one of the staff members, he explained that the problem was related to how the land was subdivided. For example, they may buy a large piece of land, such as 50 acres, and then subdivide it into smaller plots, such as 100 by 100, and sell them to different people. Some buyers pay in cash while others pay in installments. The challenge comes when processing the title deeds because some buyers may still have outstanding balances. So, in most cases, the whole block—for example, 20 or 50 acres—has to be cleared and completed before the individual title deeds can be processed and issued. That is what he explained to me as the reason for the delay in getting my title deed, even though I have already completed my payments.
Mr. CEO Kinyua Wairatu of Maono Land Limited, we know that you are legit, and I personally witnessed this myself. However, I believe you also need to find a lasting solution to this issue once and for all. It can be really discouraging for someone to pay for land and then wait another three or four years for their title deed. As customers, we would really appreciate a clear and lasting solution to this problem.
