6. Trying to twist the Scriptures to suit your appetites for extortion.
7. Trying to distort the Scriptures in your favor.

So, any preaching that is targeted towards extorting money from people and not centered on revealing Christ is making merchandise of the Gospel.

The blood of Jesus washed our sins and not our brains, the blessings of God which include Righteousness, Holiness, Grace, Redemption, Salvation, the Holy Spirit can not be bought with corruptible things such as silver, gold or money. (1 Peter 1:18,19).
