THE STORY OF GEORGE SAITOTI | PART 3

Was His Death a Political Betrayal or a Convenient Tragedy?

June 9th, 2012.

Saturday night.

Nairobi was alive.

Clubs full.
Bars noisy.
Politics boiling.

And somewhere in the city…
A decision was being made.

Quietly.
Deadly.

That night…

Two senior pilots were scheduled to fly Saitoti.

Experienced.
Tested.
Trusted.

Men who had flown VIPs for years
Their names were on the roster.
Everything was normal.

Then…

Something changed.

Late-night call.

“Change of plans.”

No explanation.
No meeting.
No paperwork.

Just:

“Report tomorrow. New pilots.”

Enter…

Nancy Gituanja.
Luke Oyugi.
Junior pilots.

Young.
Talented.
But inexperienced with VIP pressure.

They were in a club called Dambusters.

Relaxing.
Unwinding.

Then duty called.
Immediately.
No time to prepare.
No briefing.

Just:

“Come now.”

By morning…

They were in uniform.

Nervous.
Quiet.

About to carry one of the most powerful men in Kenya.

Meanwhile…

Saitoti was waking up.

Routine.

Prayer.
Briefing.
Security check.

No signs.
No warnings.

Just another workday.

Destination:

Ndhiwa, Homabay
For a church fundraiser.
With Orwa Ojode.

Friend.
Ally.
Brother.

Two men.
One mission.

Around 8am…

They arrived at Wilson Airport.

Security tight.
Motorcade.
Media.
Nothing unusual.
Or so it seemed.

The helicopter waited.

Eurocopter AS350.
White.
Clean.
Silent.

Like it was hiding something.

No one told Saitoti:

“Pilots have been changed.”
No one said:
“Something is off.”
No one said:
“Prof, let’s delay.”

They boarded.

Seatbelts.
Headsets.
Doors closed.
Blades spinning.

Whirrrrr…

Takeoff.
Smooth.
Calm.
Normal.
They rose into the Nairobi sky.
Left Wilson.
Headed toward Ngong.

Then…

Something went wrong.

At Kibiku Forest, Ngong Hills…

Residents heard a strange sound.
Not normal engine noise.
Not wind.
Something struggling.
Like a machine fighting itself.

Then…

A loud bang.
Smoke.
Fire.
Silence.

The helicopter came down.

Hard.
Violent.
Final.

Inside were:

George Saitoti
Orwa Ojode
Nancy Gituanja
Luke Oyugi
Two bodyguards

All gone.

Instantly.
No survivors.
No last words.
No goodbye.

Kenya froze.
Phones rang.
News broke.

People refused to believe.

“Impossible.”
“Haiwezekani.”
“Not Saitoti.”

By 10am…

It was everywhere.

TV.
Radio.
Social media.

“Kenya's security minister dies in crash.”
But nobody said “accident.”
Not yet.

Because questions started immediately.

Too many.
Too fast.
Too dangerous.

Why were pilots changed at night?
Why junior pilots?
Why no explanation?
Why that helicopter?
Why that day?
Why that route?

And then…
It got worse.

When rescuers arrived…
Something was missing.

- His phone.
- His bag.

Gone.
Vanished.
Like they never existed.

The crash scene?

Not secured.

People walking.
Taking photos.
Touching debris.
Evidence evaporating.

In real time.

It looked messy.
Unprofessional.
Suspicious.
Like someone wanted chaos.

And as smoke cleared…
A terrifying thought spread.

Maybe…

This was not an accident.

Maybe…

This was an ex*****on.
Disguised as tragedy.

Coming up on part 4…

- Missing phones
- Intelligence agencies
- Evidence allegedly hidden
- And why this case started smelling like cover-up…
