GOAL SETTING.
1) what your goals are for the next few months/years, 2) what needs to be done to achieve the goals and 3) having a game plan in place, will help you identify activities and tasks that are worthy of your time now.
S.M.A.R.T. is an acronym, that gives criteria to guide goal setting and objectives to yield better results. It means that your goal is specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-based.
S. specific.
Make your goals specific and narrow for more effective planning.
M. Measurable.
Define what evidence what proves you are making progress and re-evaluate when necessary.
A. Attainable.
Make sure you can reasonably accomplish your goal with a certain timeframe.
R. Relevant.
Your goals should align with your values and long term objectives.
T. Time-based
Set a realistic and ambitious end-date for task prioritization and motivation.
