Hon. Judith Pareno, Principal Secretary, State Department for Justice, Human Rights & Constitutional Affairs, led the Kenyan delegation to the 15th and 12th Sessions of the Working Groups on Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants under the UNTOC Convention in Vienna, Austria.
In her delivery of the country statement, the PS reaffirmed Kenyaโs strong commitment as a State Party to the UNTOC Convention and its Protocols. She highlighted the significant progress the country has made in aligning national frameworks with international obligations to combat trafficking in persons and smuggling of migrants.
She further outlined the reforms and policy measures Kenya has embraced to prevent, suppress, and punish these transnational crimes while strengthening victim protection, coordination among agencies, and international cooperation.
Kenya remains steadfast in advancing a people-centered justice system that upholds human rights, gender equality, and the dignity of all persons affected by trafficking and migrant smuggling.
