There’s a lot happening. Globally. Locally. Personally. Sometimes it feels like everything is moving at 100kph emotions, opinions, news, drama, wins, losses, people coming, people going, highs and lows all mixed in the same hour.

In the middle of all this noise, I’m learning something that should be simple but isn’t always easy: listening before responding. I used to think quick answers showed intelligence or control. But nowadays, I’m seeing the strength in silence. The wisdom in the pause.

Even when I think I already have the answer, I’m choosing to slow down. Listen deeply. Reflect first. Then respond. That small shift will change so much in how I engage with people, how I deal with conflict, even how I speak to myself.

I’ve also realized how important it is to hear both sides of a story before picking where to stand. The truth isn’t always loud. Sometimes it’s hidden beneath layers. If you’re not careful, you get pulled into battles that aren’t yours or end up standing on the wrong side not because you’re malicious, but because you didn’t take time to really listen.

So as we enter the second half of the year, this is where I’m at: I’m listening more. To people. To energy. To silence. To God. To the lessons life is trying to teach me quietly.

The goal isn’t to have more to say. The goal is to understand more, even if it means saying less.

Ever felt like you’re falling short on your purpose? Like you’re off track, lost in your thoughts? Then—just like that—God shows up with a gentle reminder: “I’ve got you.” 🙏🏽

Anyway… today someone said I look like a cheap, broke version of Joho 😆😆
But broke or not, the drip is royal!

Some days start off great… until that one thing flips the script. But even in the mess, there’s always a message. Pick the lesson, fix what you can, and keep it moving. Happy weekend! ✨

A few years ago, if I had taken things seriously, I lowkey might’ve been one of the top DJs in Kenya by now 😂.

Right after high school, I didn’t have a clear career path. But one thing I knew for sure—I wanted in on the entertainment industry. So, I started off by joining a dance crew called at CITAM Buru during my “ex-can” year. Don’t let the calm exterior fool you—I was a serious dancer back then 🔥.

That dance journey naturally evolved into hyping, and I went by the name HypeKid Kilosh (pretty sure I was one of the youngest hypemen in the game 😅). At the time, our crew was under (cc: ), and that’s where I got my first real taste of the industry.

Fun fact: way back in Class 5 or 6, I even made a cameo in a music video—“1.2 U Ready” by Chief ( and of ) 👀.

While at Genius, there was a DJ school on site, and that’s where I learned the basics of DJing. I didn’t take it too seriously then—my focus was more on the digital and creative side—but believe me, I had the ear for vibes.

Also while in college, we had a music production unit, and slowly, music started making more sense to me—not just emotionally, but technically too.

Fast forward to now, I reconnected with my guy , and whenever we’re working together, he lets me hop on the decks and teaches me some tricks. Long story short—I still got it-ish😎.

Happy Monday, Friends of Kil!

The caption is on slide 2... 😂😂

She’s been my friend for 10 years, my forever bestie for 2+ years, and my personal cheerleader disguised as a cute distraction. She’s seen me crusty, clean, and everything in between—and she’s still here, so clearly she’s chosen struggle 😅.

Huyu mrembo huona vitu za ajabu sometimes, but hey—we move regardless. Life’s wild, unpredictable, and occasionally offbeat… but at least we’re laughing through it together. 😅❤️
