Public Safety, Nanyuki Town

Persistent heavy rainfall continues to affect several parts of Nanyuki Town, leading to flooding on roads, waterlogged sections, poor visibility, and slow traffic movement in some areas. Motorists, pedestrians, and business operators are advised to remain cautious as drainage systems in certain locations remain overwhelmed.

General Advisory:
Residents are encouraged to avoid flooded roads and fast-moving water, especially near drainage channels and low-lying areas. Drivers should maintain safe speeds, use headlights where visibility is reduced, and avoid unnecessary travel during heavy downpours. Parents and school transport operators are advised to exercise extra caution while moving children during the ongoing rains.

Police arrested 153 people during the Africa Forward Summit 2026 in Nairobi, with authorities saying the suspects were detained over various offences linked to demonstrations and public order violations.

Addressing the press a day after the conclusion of the two-day event, Nairobi Regional Commander Issa Mohamud said the arrests were made as security agencies moved to secure the international event attended by diplomats and foreign delegations.

The regional police boss added that those arrested faced allegations including misconduct, obstruction of police officers, unlawful assembly and failure to notify police of protests as required by law.
“Under the constitution, NPS is mandated to ensure protection of diplomats, heads of state and official missions within regional jurisdiction, and that is what we did, in compliance with international regulations...There was no incident during the Summit,” Mohamud said.

Members of the National Assembly have urged the government to relocate Nakuru State House, citing severe congestion, limited room for expansion and the city’s growing status as a major urban and regional hub.
The issue dominated deliberations before the National Assembly Departmental Committee on National Administration and Internal Security during scrutiny of the 2026/2027 State House budget estimates, where State House Comptroller Dr Katoo Ole Metito appeared to defend the proposed allocations.

Nakuru County Woman Representative Liza Chelule led calls for the relocation, arguing that the current facility no longer reflects the stature and dignity expected of a modern State House.

If you are in Nairobi and you are holding a nice phone... there are some ladies who, when they see you with it, they start shouting "mwizi!" so that you get beaten up as they take your phone and vanish! A lady tried this trick but the police arrived on time and caught her. She was told to enter the password but she said she couldn't remember it.

The guy who was the rightfully owner, was told to enter the password and he did it perfectly fine. Several men have been switched off due to this nonsense in CBD & this women always get away with such crimes. Such women need to be stoned or burnt to death.

That’s why it’s hard nowadays for men to help a woman when they hear her shouting that she’s being robbed. Unaenda kusaidia mtu kumbe malaya ako mboka. Gentlemen, normalize minding your business because daughters of Agrippina hawana huruma huku inje. Chesaa!!
