During our first Diapers for Dignity campaign, one thing that stayed with us was the countless messages of gratitude we received from parents and beneficiaries. 💛

Every note, every “thank you,” reminded us why this work matters. Behind every diaper donated was a child made more comfortable, and a parent who could breathe a little easier.

That joy and fulfillment is what’s driving us to restart the campaign once again. This time, to support 100 families within the next 12 months with much-needed diapers.

During the years after Covid, we ran a small but deeply impactful project Diapers for Dignity.
Through crowdfunding and the generosity of friends, we were able to donate diapers to families raising children with developmental disabilities for 2 years. It was one of the most fulfilling experiences of our work at Geuza Wazo. 💛
Today, we want to restart this initiative, this time with an even bigger goal:
🎯 To support 100 families within the next 12 months with much-needed diapers.
Every pack we deliver is not just about diapers. It’s about dignity, relief, and reminding parents they are not walking this journey alone.

Barely 10 hours after launching our campaign, we raised Ksh 32,135. Surreal!

✨ Not because it’s impossible, but because of how fast it happened. Thanks to your generosity, we now have the funds to kickstart the campaign.

We’re beginning with the gentleman who inspired the creation of this drive, paralysed from the waist down, he relies on diapers daily. We’ve already started sourcing for his diapers, though size availability was a challenge in the last campaign. We’re hopeful this round will be smoother. 💛

Sometime in 2022, our team was out shooting content for YouTube. Our Interviewee for the day was paralyzed from the waist down.

When we got there we were greeted by a sad situation. The young man was using newspapers in place of diapers. And since he can’t feel his legs, it was impossible to tell when the newspapers were soiled and needed to be replaced with new ones.

As a result, he was prone to bedsores as his caregiver who had to work all day was not available to change him in time. That experience really touched the team and we came up with the charity drive called “Diaper for Dignity”

Through this initiative, we raised money and donated diapers to families for over two years. He was one of our beneficiaries. We are now restarting this program again and want to raise money to purchase diapers again.

We did it last time, and we can do it again this time. With just Ksh 300, you can provide a child with comfort and a mother with peace of mind.
