Our Founder Des Thevisionary had the honour of attending the Creative Roundtable and private screening of Heads of State, hosted by Kenya Film Commission and Akuna Group.

Saturday was a moment of powerful conversations, networking, and fresh insights into the creative industry. The roundtable brought together key players in film, art, and media to discuss the growth of Africa’s creative economy and how collaboration can shape the future.The screening of Heads of State, a film by Idris Elba, was a true cinematic experience, mixing action and comedy in a way that left the room energized. We celebrate the impact Idris is making by investing in African creatives and creating platforms for growth.We’re proud to see our founder representing the team in such spaces. The future of storytelling is African. 🎬✨

Our founder, Des Thevisionary had an honour of attending the Climate Talk hosted at the residence of the German Ambassador to Kenya on June 24th. Alongside our team, we were invited to handle photography for this important event. It was a powerful experience engaging with key leaders and having a meaningful conversation with H.E. Sebastian Groth Ambassador German Embassy Nairobi on the role of the creative industry in climate action. Proud moment for TeamShirika. 🌍🎬🇩🇪

As Australia celebrates 60 years of diplomatic relations with Kenya, the DOUBLE EXPOSURE projection exhibition stood out as a powerful cultural milestone, and TeamShirika was proud to be part of it.

Our founder, Des Thevisionary, had the honour of attending this unforgettable event in Nairobi, where the iconic Old Mutual Building became a vibrant canvas for celebrated Kenyan visual artist Thandiwe Muriu In a touching moment, she shared how she once dreamed of seeing her work displayed high above the city, a dream that became reality as her art lit up the skyline for all in the CBD to see.

It wasn’t just about the visuals. It was a night of powerful storytelling, rich cultural exchange, and meaningful networking. Moments like these remind us why we do what we do: to uplift African creatives, foster global collaborations, and bring art to the forefront of change.

A heartfelt thank you to Thandiwe Muriu and the Australian High Commission, Kenya for making this celebration of creativity and identity possible.

At TeamShirika, we believe in showing up where the future is being shaped.
On Friday our founder Des Thevisionary represented us at the KPMG East Africa Summit, where the Africa Centre of Excellence was officially launched to bridge African entrepreneurs with investors, sponsors, and changemakers across the continent.

Later that evening, we joined the American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) for a powerful networking cocktail that connected us with global thought leaders and potential partners. These aren’t just events, they are steps toward building platforms that uplift young creatives through film, art, and entertainment.

Special thanks to George Gachara, HEVA and the teams at KPMG and for making this possible. The journey continues.
