100 Men vs 1 Gorilla: Who Wins? (And Why It's a Stupid Question)
Yes, I know I'm arriving at this argument late—but honestly, there's still much that hasn't been said.
First off, this is one of those internet thought experiments that can't really "be settled." There are just too many things people gloss over:
• Are the guys young and muscular, or old and flabby?
• Is the gorilla healthy and prime, or sick and tired?
• Where is the battle being fought? Jungle? Cage? Walmart parking lot?
• Do the guys have time to plan?
• Is there a countdown clock?
• Are they wearing clothes, or are we dealing with some kind of crazy primal nonsense?
All of these tiny details matter. Big time.
Okay, now let's get to the basics.
A gorilla is a beast—literally.
• Strong as 6 to 8 men.
• Jaws that can crush bone.
• Thick skin.
• Pure forest tank energy.
But here’s the catch: they overheat fast. They don’t sweat. So once they get going too hard, they gas out. Fast.
Humans? Not as strong. But we’ve got the numbers. And brains.
One-on-one? The man gets absolutely destroyed.
100 vs 1? Now we’re talking.
If the 100 men launch the attack simultaneously, it'd probably just run away. Gorillas are not naturally aggressive animals. But if we set up the battle (cage match, let's say), the men would win. Without even having to try.
They can lead it around in circles and wait for it to collapse.
Or swarm it—some pin it down, the others rush at it.
Bizarre, yes. But bio-legitimate.
Who wins, then?
The 100 men. That makes sense.
But here's the real question: Why does this matter, anyway?
The gorilla didn't consent to being a part of this. It can't consent. And even if the men "win," what exactly did they prove? That 100 of them could beat up a creature? Neat?
Whether the gorilla wins or the men win, humanity gets the L.
So yeah, neat little thought experiment. but let's leave it in the land of imagination.
