Enough with the lies. ODM Chairman and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed came out guns blazing ahead of the Finance Bill submission in Parliament, calling out leaders who are deliberately feeding Kenyans false information about what is and what is NOT in the Finance Bill. If you are going to oppose it, oppose it honestly β€” stop manufacturing fear and misleading the public. The truth is enough. Kenyans deserve accurate information, not political theatrics.

Members of Parliament have raised serious concerns over the Teachers Service Commission's handling of promotions for deputy headteachers across Kenya's 47 counties. Lawmakers are calling for a structured, transparent, and equitable promotion framework that ensures no county is disadvantaged in career progression for its educators. Fair and timely promotions are not just a matter of teacher welfare β€” they are a direct investment in the quality of education and school leadership across Kenya. TSC must rise to the occasion. πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺ

Accountability time! Lake Victoria North Water Works Development Authority CEO Joel Wamalwa and his team faced tough questions before the Public Investments Committee on Commercial Affairs & Energy, chaired by Pokot South MP David Pkosing at Continental House, Nairobi. Nairobi Woman Rep Esther Pasaris didn't hold back β€” firing a sharp warning at the Treasury to stop allowing government entities to dodge servicing their internal debts. Six years of audited accounts from FY2018/19 to FY2024/25 are under the microscope. Public money must be accounted for!

Something doesn't add up! The National Assembly Departmental Committee on Trade, led by Chairman Bernard Shinali, is hot on the trail of Mombasa Sugar Refinery Limited after the company imported a whopping 27,839 metric tonnes of raw cane sugar from South Africa. MPs personally visited a Nairobi storage facility to scrutinize the consignment amid serious fears that the sugar could be sneaked into the local market for domestic consumption β€” threatening Kenya's struggling sugar industry.

Kirinyaga Women Rep Wangui Ngirici is demanding answers β€” calling on security agencies to urgently investigate the alarming rise of children going missing without a trace, leaving families shattered and desperate for answers. She also called out the government over the wave of high school burning tragedies, insisting that an independent investigating body must be created because the government simply cannot audit itself. Our children deserve better.

While schools across Kenya continue to burn, students at Migori Boys High School took to their grounds on Tuesday June 9 carrying placards with one unified message β€” they will not burn their school. They called instead for dialogue, discipline, and peaceful ways of addressing grievances. Corporate Staffing
Hatuchomi. We will not burn.
Alliance High School β€” one of Kenya's most celebrated institutions, marking its centenary year β€” was shut down indefinitely after a fire destroyed around 200 mattresses in a dormitory store, with 11 students detained over a planned strike. My Job Mag
Utumishi Girls. Agoro Sare. Sironga Girls. Jomo Kenyatta High School. The list keeps growing.
And yet here stand the students of Migori Boys β€” young men from Western Kenya telling the whole country what leadership looks like. No fire. No destruction. Just placards, principle and peace.
If Migori Boys can do it, so can every school in Kenya.
This is the example Alliance and every school in this country needs to follow.

Omar Abdulkadir Artan was set to make history as the first Somali referee ever to officiate at a FIFA World Cup. Named Africa's Best Referee in 2025, he arrived at Miami International Airport on June 6 with a valid work visa β€” and was pulled aside, refused entry, and sent back to Istanbul.
Somalia is one of the countries on the travel ban executive order signed by US President Donald Trump in 2025. It remains unclear whether that order directly caused the decision β€” but the timing speaks for itself.
FIFA confirmed it will not fight the ruling, noting that a host government ultimately determines who receives a visa and who is admitted into their country.
Now Canada has confirmed he is welcome to officiate in Vancouver. One neighbour opens the door. The other one keeps it shut.
He is not alone. Iraq's star striker Aymen Hussein was detained and interrogated for seven hours at Chicago O'Hare Airport, with officers confiscating his phone and reviewing personal documents. The team's official photographer was denied entry entirely. Corporate Staffing
This is not just about football. This is about merit, fairness and the message the world's biggest sporting event is sending to Africa and the Global South.
Canada said yes. Africa is watching. The world is watching.
