10 Nyamira MCAs Face Possible Removal from Office

Ten Members of the Nyamira County Assembly risk losing their seats following recommendations by the Assembly’s Committee on Powers and Privileges. The committee has proposed that the seats be declared vacant, and the full Assembly is expected to vote on whether to adopt the report.

The affected MCAs were part of the breakaway "Nyamira County Mashinani Assembly" group.

The MCAs named in the report are:
1. Hon. Nyambega Gisesa – MCA, Rigoma Ward
2. Hon. Joel Ombongi – MCA, Bokeira Ward
3. Hon. Martha Marwa
4. Hon. Jeliah Nyakang’i
5. Hon. Beatrice Onyancha
6. Hon. Edinah Obara
7. Hon. Janerose Nafula
8. Hon. Elijah Abere
9. Hon. Lydiah Bosire
10. Hon. Zipporah Matundura

In addition, two other members—Hon. Abel Mokaya and Hon. Lameck Sikweya Enana—have been suspended for seven sittings and 60 days, respectively.
