Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika is under intensifying scrutiny after the Auditor General’s report revealed a staggering KSh 540 million was spent on her foreign travel. An expenditure that sharply contrasts with conditions on the ground in a county that receives over KSh 14 billion annually from the national government.

The disconnect is glaring. Public hospitals are struggling, essential services are deteriorating and Nakuru City’s road network continues to crumble under neglect with residents decrying its rapid increase into a pothole gridlock.

Even after mounting criticism the administration relies heavily on cash handouts “ maendeleo cash” which is a short term distraction rather than a solution to her deep-rooted governance failures.
