Today, I attended a fundraiser at Kamutei Parish in Athi Ward, aimed at raising funds to purchase a parish bus. The initiative seeks to support the parish’s transport needs, especially in facilitating church activities and outreach programs within the community.

During the event, the Parish Priest, Fr. Simon Kitute expressed deep gratitude to me for my presence and generous contribution to the fundraiser. He also extended his appreciation to the parishioners and the wider community for their commitment and unity in supporting the project, noting that the success of such initiatives is a testament to the spirit of togetherness in the area.

Also in attendance was the Athi Ward MCA, Hon. Muthama Kieti and other leaders. The fundraiser brought together leaders, faithful, and residents, marking a significant step towards achieving the parish’s goal of acquiring a bus to better serve its members.

Today, residents of Mutomo Sub-County witnessed the official launch of the Kangu Kangu Water Project, a flagship initiative implemented by the Kitui County Government in partnership with World Vision Kenya.

The multi-million-shilling project, valued at KSh 840 million, is designed to produce over 1.4 million litres of clean water daily, transforming access to safe water in the arid region. Leaders present during the commissioning noted that the project would not only ease the burden of long treks in search of water but also boost sanitation, hygiene, and agricultural productivity.

Governor’s representatives and World Vision officials hailed the project as a game-changer for Mutomo and its neighbouring areas, emphasizing that reliable water supply would uplift livelihoods, promote health, and open new economic opportunities. Local residents expressed optimism that the facility would end decades of water scarcity and bring lasting relief to households, schools, and farmers.

Leaders present included Governor Julius Malombe, Kitui Central MP Makali Mulu, Deputy Governor Wambua Kanani, Gilbert Kamanga, National Director World Vision Kenya, MCAs, county ministers, COs, and other residents.

Today, I joined the Director for Housing, Patrick Mwangi, in officially handing over a contractor who will construct a modern market in Mutomo. The project is part of the government’s nationwide initiative to modernize markets across Kenya.

Director Mwangi introduced the contractor, Mr. John Mbui of Kirchberg Palace Construction Company Ltd, who won the tender to undertake the project.

He assured residents that the government is committed to ensuring quality work and promised that the contractor will deliver without disappointment. Mwangi further urged the contractor to prioritize the use of locally available materials and to collaborate with the community so that residents can directly benefit from the project.

Also present at the event were area Assistant County Commissioners (ACCs), chiefs, and local residents who welcomed the development as a major boost to Mutomo’s economy.

In Kenya today; The boda boda sector remains a key social and economic pillar for both our rural and urban communities. If well regulated, it can help the country unlock its unmatched potential.

Today , we attended a BodaBoda empowerment event earlier in Yatta constituency; Machakos County/. We urged riders across the country to safeguard their sector from criminal elements seeking to tarnish its image by being cooperative and reciprocating the government’s support.

I was pleased to join my colleagues The Vincent Musyoka Kawaya (MP Mwala ) Hon. Ni**od Mbai, MP Kitui East and the Hon. Fabian Kyule MP Langundo. Congratulations to my sister Madam. Anastacia Muendo for hosting such a well-organized and impactful event.

This evening together with my colleague legislators from Ukambani, we held a fruitful briefing session with Deputy President H.E Kithure Kindiki at his Karen Office.
We were appraised on the procurement status of six key roads recently advertised, markets, housing, water and other projects set to kick off soon under the visionary leadership of President William Ruto.
This is a great assurance that our region will no longer be left behind on matters of development. Truly Ukambani is on the path of transformation and I remain committed to ensuring our people benefit fully from the government agenda.
