Seated here at the Coffee Views House in Bihi Towers, Moi Avenue, Nairobi. I just finished my Malindi Machiatto, and I am now hoping they don’t think I am an idler as I wait for my friend Joyline to show up. And as I wait, I go through some job opps and try to find some leads for my business. You see, I have been wanting to become serious about offering help to small business owners for the longest time. I am a virtual assistant, and this is exactly what I do.
When you start a business, you hope to have some time back, right? You hope you will not be rushing to meet deadlines before your boss turns your ear red with insults and nagging. You want to wake up and see that it is flooding in Nairobi CBD and be like “yeah, not today” and just roll back to bed. And then your business grows, because you have really worked hard to push it. You now have clients, comments on social media, and emails to reply to or follow up on. You have bookkeeping to do, records to make, and pending creative work for social media. You are grateful you are busy, but you are extremely tired. You have money, yes, but when will you spend it? Everything needs you right this minute! Oh, the pressure! And that is where I come in. I handle your backend administrative and social media work. I reply to all emails, draft the necessary ones, reply to all comments on social media, reconcile your records and your books, and the cherry on the cake? I manage your future as well. I schedule out social media posts, I schedule your calendar, I follow up on client requests, and give you a list of what is hot and demands your attention.
I currently have spare time, and that is why I am writing this. I wish I were busy organizing and automating backend work for my clients. That is what I truly love to do. Follow this page for more of my random outbursts!
