We are opening the Voices Unheard Kenya journey with a conversation that goes to the heart of governance, justice, and citizenship: “Nothing About Us Without Us – Why Inclusion is not a ‘nice-to-have’ but a constitutional and development imperative.”

This premiere episode is hosted by Mercy Mukeni Okumu and features Hon. David Mwaure Waihiga—a Kenyan lawyer and political leader—on why inclusive governance must move from rhetoric to practice, and why the voices of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized communities must be centered in public life, not treated as an afterthought.

This is more than a podcast episode. It is the beginning of a civic conversation about belonging, representation, dignity, and the right to be heard. VUKA is designed as a civic engagement platform that amplifies voices often left out of policy and governance spaces, especially those of youth, women, and persons with disabilities.
