Statement of Condemnation and Call for Peace

It is with strong rebuke that I condemn the recent inflammatory rhetoric by Twic East youth leader Deng Jr. Kuir Bul, currently in Juba. His call for violence is not only a grave violation of the longstanding coexistence between our communities but also a reckless abuse of leadership and desperate influence.

By urging his community to reject peace until the Hol community is forcibly expelled from Buothagany, he is endangering countless lives and risking generational destruction. Our communities have already endured decades of conflict, inciting youth to take up arms now threatens to erase an entire generation over a dispute that could be resolved peacefully through dialogue and arbitration.

South Sudan needs young leaders who will build a brighter future, not dismantle it. Such rhetoric undermines any hope for national unity and jeopardizes the very leadership roles that individuals like Deng Jr. aspire to at the national level.

Throughout history, communities have faced disputes, but they were resolved through wisdom and peaceful means—not violence. His statements directly contradict President Salva Kiir Mayardit’s appeal for peaceful coexistence and undermine the peace initiative recently led by Governor Dr. Riek G*i Kok in Juba. It is deeply troubling that someone who previously participated in peace efforts, including those in Pibor, would now betray those principles.

To date, Twic East leaders and elders have remained silent. Their failure to publicly condemn this dangerous rhetoric raises serious concerns and may suggest a silent endorsement of communal violence. Such silence is unacceptable.

Therefore, I call upon:
• The Government of South Sudan to publicly condemn this call to war and uphold national peace and security. The government must swiftly denounce those inciting violence.
• The Jonglei State Government to hold Deng Jr. Kuir Bul accountable and protect the integrity of the

PUBLIC AWARENESS AND APPEAL STATEMENT ON THE RISING MALARIA AND CHOLERA OUTBREAK IN DUK PADIET, JONGLEI STATE

Subject: URGENT PUBLIC APPEAL ON THE OUTBREAK OF MALARIA AND CHOLERA IN DUK PADIET, JONGLEI STATE

With deep concern and a heavy heart, I wish to raise a public awareness and urgent humanitarian appeal to the Government of the Republic of South Sudan, national organizations, and international humanitarian agencies regarding the rising cases of malaria and cholera that are gravely threatening lives in Duk Padiet, Jonglei State.

Recent reports from local health workers and community leaders reveal that cholera and malaria outbreaks have intensified in the area following the withdrawal of critical health support services and the growing shortage of medical supplies. Many families are now facing unbearable conditions without proper access to medical care, clean water, or sanitation facilities.

The situation on the ground is dire and life-threatening — health facilities are either closed or operating without essential drugs, while patients are being treated under trees and in makeshift shelters. The lack of clean water has worsened the spread of cholera, and stagnant floodwaters have created perfect breeding grounds for mosquitoes, accelerating malaria transmission.

Unless urgent measures are taken, this health crisis could escalate into a full-blown humanitarian disaster across the entire Duk County and neighboring areas.

I therefore appeal to the Government of the Republic of South Sudan, through: The Ministry of Health, The Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, and The Jonglei State Government,

to take immediate emergency action to:

If we certainly want to change and develop our country a little bit, we should not view things based on our tribal lineages, however, we should look at things based on what we believe will take our country somewhere.

Revenge mentality and shared blame are one of the reasons that are tearing our country into smaller chunks.

Let's just stand for what we do know and believe is right(truths) so that we can transform or build heaven on earth /the glamorous paradise in South Sudan.🙋‍♂️🙋‍♂️

Some people were brainwashed to the maximum. They see👀👀 their fellow brothers and sisters as threats/enemies 🥷🥷which shouldn't be the case at all.🙅‍♂️🙅‍♂️

Our goal right now should be; “everyone must eat and enjoy—There must be inclusivity(All the 64 ethnic groups)”——We’ll live as brothers and sisters so soon and forget about the tribal things.🗣🗣🗣
