2 decades later, Eliud Kipchoge🇰🇪 and Kenenisa Bekele🇪🇹 will compete again on 10th August in the same country they first meet.

Here are their countless battle around the world in between those years.

2003 PARIS WORLD ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Kipchoge and Bekele first compete together at the 2003 World Athletics championships. Kipchoge takes the win, followed by Hicham El Guerrouj and Bekele coming in 3rd

2004 BRUSSEL WORLD ATHLETICS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Bekele won gold 🥇 by 18 seconds. Kipchoge finished 4th as the leading Kenyan.

2004 ATHENS OLYMPICS.
Bekele and Kipchoge line up once again for the 5000m final. The race was won my Hicham El Guerrouj with Bekele getting silver🥈, closely followed by Kipchoge in 3rd 🥉 position.

2005 SAINT - GALMET WORLD ATHLETICS CROSS COUNTRY CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Another World Cross title to add to Bekele's collection. Once again, Kipchoge comes in 4th, having missed out on a Bronze🥉 medal by only 5 seconds.

2006 MOSCOW WORLD ATHLETICS INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Bekele faces Kipchoge over 3000m at the World Athletics Indoor Championships. Bekele takes the victory while Kipchoge claims Bronze 🥉.

2008 BEIJING OLYMPIC
Bekele and Kipchoge go 1-2 in Beijing 2008 Olympics 5000m final. Bekele ran 12:57:82 against Kipchoge's 13:02:08.

2009 BERLIN WORLD ATHLETICS CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Bekele adds a world championship 5000m gold 🥇, Kipchoge finishes in 5th place.

2014 CHICAGO MARATHON
Kipchoge Wins in 2:04::11 with Bekele clocking 2:05:51 for the 4th place.

2016 LONDON MARATHON.
Kipchoge takes the London Marathon crown in 2:03:05. Bekele took 3rd place in 2:06:36.

2018 LONDON MARATHON
Kipchoge continues his dominance on the road with another London Marathon victory. Bekele finishes in 6th place.
