The Kenya–U.S. Health Cooperation Framework is a five-year, $1.6 billion (approx. Sh208B) agreement that marks a historic shift in bilateral health aid, moving from donor-led NGO models to direct Government-to-Government (G2G) funding.

As stated by CS Aden Duale, the benefits are two-fold: for the Nation, it enhances sovereignty, deepens diplomatic ties, and builds core infrastructure like digital/surveillance systems and supply chains while strengthening the health workforce.

For Citizens, it promises better access to medicines, improved hospital service delivery, and stronger epidemic protection through a commitment to long-term sustainability and self-reliance by 2031. Kenya, in turn, has committed to significant co-investment and an annual increase in its national health budget

President William Ruto held productive discussions with International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Kristalina Georgieva in Washington, D.C., focusing on strengthening collaboration to sustain Kenya's economic momentum on December 4, 2025.

The meeting culminated in an agreement to forge a forward-looking partnership built on transparency and mutual understanding. The discussions centered on broadening avenues for IMF support to bolster Kenya's current reform agenda.

President Ruto emphasized that the IMF is a constructive partner whose assistance in external debt management and technical expertise has contributed significantly to national progress. President William Ruto held talks on December 4, 2025 with International Finance Corporation (IFC) Managing Director Makhtar Diop in Washington, D.C., confirming strong IFC interest in Kenya’s innovative new approach to development financing, anchored by the establishment of an Infrastructure Fund.
The IFC welcomed this model, which aims to accelerate the realization of national development goals by attracting private capital.
The discussions focused on tangible future investments, with Kenya set to host a senior IFC delegation early next year, led by Vice President Mohamed Gouled, to advance discussions on energy and major infrastructure projects.
Key areas of focus include the modernisation of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, expansion of major roads, and the generation and transmission of clean power from geothermal, hydro, and wind sources
