An Open Letter to Blessing CEO (Okoro Blessing Nkiruka) Blessingceo
Dear Blessing,
You may not know me, and I do not know you personally beyond what I have seen on social media. However, what is currently circulating about you has compelled me to speak.
You have been trending over a claim that has now been widely described as untrue. You have allegedly lied that you are living with stage 4 cancer. Having followed the news and the conversations online, I must say plainly: I find this deeply appalling.
There are boundaries that should never be crossed, and this is one of them.
What may have started as controversy, attention-seeking, or an attempt to remain relevant has now gone far beyond that. This is no longer just about personal branding or online presence. This has touched something deeply sensitive and painful for countless people around the world.
At this point, it is not only about your reputation. Many people feel hurt. Think about families, women, and individuals who are either battling cancer or have lost loved ones to it. This is a disease that carries immense weight. The mere mention of it brings fear, trauma, and grief to many.
As someone who serves in ministry, I have stood with families and individuals walking through the reality of cancer. I have seen the tears, the pain, and the loss. I have witnessed people bury their loved ones. For this reason, seeing such a serious condition used in this manner is not just disappointing, it is deeply painful.
This situation calls for reflection, responsibility, and accountability instead of the usual arrogance.
Enough with your lies, manipulation, and the audacity to threaten those using your picture. That should be the least of your concern right now.
Have some shame or remorse!
It is important that you acknowledge the impact of your actions and take accountability. Influence, especially on a public platform, carries a responsibility that cannot be ignored. Actions like this do not empower, they wound.
Before you came out with evil, sickening act, did you ever think of the cancer victims and their love ones? How dare you Blessing???
You even went as far as using a real cancer patient’s medical document to deceive the public, playing on the emotions of people and getting money for a sickness you do not even have.
How dare you? How do you sleep at night?
Honestly, as I think about your actions, I question your mental state. I wonder if you are mentally okay.
You talk much about leadership and empowerment, but at this moment, I don’t feel that what you have done represents strength, leadership, or the voice of women. Instead, it reflects a lapse in judgment that has caused widespread offense and disappointment.
Blessing CEO, with this kind of behaviour, I can boldly tell you that right now you do not represent us… women! You do not speak for us because that’s not the kind of voice we want to have.
You owe the public a sincere apology. You owe an apology to cancer victims worldwide. You owe an apology to the cancer patient whose medical document you used.
There is still an opportunity to respond with humility, to take responsibility, and to begin restoring trust. That step is necessary not just for your image, but for the many people affected by this.
I hope you take a moment to reflect deeply on this and choose a path of accountability and growth.
I am definitely praying for Deborah Mbara and family, all all other victims.
