After public participation, Kenyans have expressed the need for a working HEALTH CARE INSURANCE. 🏥
REGISTRATION:
Every Kenyan must register for SHIF to benefit. The Ministry of Health is striving for 100% registration! ✅

S.ocial H.ealth I.nsurance F.und – ensuring every Kenyan is covered, unlike the current NHIF with only 26% registration.

HOW?
SHIF has 3 well-defined funds:
1. PRIMARY HEALTH CARE - Covers expenses for level 2 and 3 health facilities.NHIF covers only the secondary facilities
2. S.H.I.F FUND - Enhanced hospital expense coverage; vulnerable individuals can register for government support.
3. EMERGENCY, ACCIDENT and CHRONIC FUND - New benefits for emergencies and chronic diseases, reducing past financial burdens.
