Antony Gitonga: The Leader Who Runs on Chai and Big Dreams"
Ladies and gentlemen, if you’ve never met Antony Gitonga, let me describe him in one sentence: He’s the kind of guy who’d organize a youth empowerment event at 7 AM and still expect everyone to be cheerful. Spoiler alert: only Antony is cheerful at 7 AM.
Now, Antony is passionate like, aggressively passionate about empowering the youth. If passion were a fuel, Antony could power Nairobi for a year. He’s got more ideas for youth projects than TikTok has dance challenges. And somehow, every one of them involves teamwork, service, and chai. Always chai.
His leadership style? It’s a mix of motivation, mild chaos, and "let’s just try it and see what happens." But somehow it works. Whether it’s organizing community clean-ups, youth mentorship programs, or convincing teenagers that waking up early is good for their future (a true miracle), Antony is always there, sleeves rolled up, ready to go.
You know you’re under Antony’s leadership when suddenly you find yourself in charge of three committees, two WhatsApp groups, and you’re giving a speech you didn’t plan for. And you're loving it. Why? Because with Antony, leadership isn’t about titles it’s about showing up, lifting others up, and making service feel like the coolest thing you can do on a Saturday.
So let’s hear it for Antony Gitonga a man on a mission, a youth whisperer, and probably the only person who can get 100 young people to voluntarily pick up trash while smiling.

Should young people continue to speak against bad governance even though they are seeking for opportunities to those that are stealing from them?

Would you be comfortable in calling out your boss for unfair treatment? Knowing very well they’ve got the last say during your appraisal?

Even before ‘s disruptions,young people were already struggling to secure meaningful employment. Africa, the youngest continent with over 60% under 25, 95% of those employed, are in an informal contract. informal employment means employment without legal or social protection.

As young people continue to create & seek opportunities, should they call out bad governance & corruption even though those they are more likely to expose are the ones to give opportunities?
