I WANT TO GIVE UP ON MY DREAMS
but the fire inside me refuses to die.

The walls come crumbling down
yet I find strength in the rubble.

I fall and get comfortable down there
but the echoes of my hopes keep calling me higher.

I want to let go and lay low
but the pull of purpose tugs at my soul.

I want to hide my face in shame
but the light within me refuses to dim.

I mute my voice and shut my mouth
yet the truth within me demands to be heard.

I pour my ink and tear out the pages
but the stories I carry won’t stay silent.

I run away from the light
but shadows chase me, revealing the path I must take.

I don't want to be the city on a hill
but destiny keeps placing me in the spotlight.

I want to be the lamp under a bushel
but my flame flickers through, defying the darkness.

What do I do?

I rise up
and let the world see the strength I've found in my journey.

Rise up
and let the dawn of my dreams light the way.

Rise up
and let the echoes of my resolve fill the silence.

Rise up
and stand tall against the winds of doubt.

Rise up
and be the beacon that others seek.

Rise up
and transform my fears into my greatest strength.

This is who I am;
The voice lurking within that refuses to be silenced;
the light that breaks through the darkest nights.

I was made to be a force,
a testament to resilience and hope.

Now I shine
and let my brilliance illuminate the world.

What a novelty it is to be loved,
But who am I, daring to write about something
That I have seen only from afar,
How could I write about love
when I've never been the poem
but always the one who bleeds writing for others.

A military officer was given a 3-day leave to go and enjoy with his newly wedded wife. He arrived home and realized that his wife was in her monthly period !
He had to send an sos message to headquarters requesting for an extension of his leave days . He prepared his message in the usual military coded language...He wrote:
Soldier: Omega One ,...this is Omega Twelve . Danger from the field . Red in front. Leave-extension requested. Do you read me Red in front... passage not clear, extend leave?
Headquarters replied:
This is Omega One . We read you loud and clear . The danger is minimal . Attack from the back and resume immediately . Leave-extension denied
I repeat.... attack with minimal force from the back and resume immediately ... way is clear from behind ! Extension denied!
