After the long, treacherous journey from the Port of Mombasa to Lodwar - 1,150 km / 720 miles, tons of relief food were offloaded at the National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB) silos; a state corporation that offers procurement, management, storage and distribution for strategic food reserves.
Carefully stacked for optimal preservation — this is the temporary home before the final, most important leg: reaching the people.
Onloading starts - unfortunately no forklifts, just grit, sweat, and the quiet knowledge that lives depend on it.
A reminder that logistics isn't just movement — it's care, planning, resilience and protection of hope.
Off to Lobei village - 75km south of Lodwar, 2 hours away.
