Great news for students and parents in Alego Usonga.

Today, at Siaya Township Secondary School in Siaya Township Ward, I officially launched the 2025 NG-CDF bursaries, bringing much-needed relief to learners in the 47 day secondary schools in Alego Usonga. In a strong commitment to education and academic excellence, I am pleased to announce the following transformative measures after extensive consultations with day school principals of Alego Usonga Constituency:

✅ School Fees Reduction: Henceforth, school fees in all day secondary schools will be reduced from Ksh. 15,000 to Ksh. 11,000, making education more affordable for all.

✅ Subsidized School Meals: Students will now benefit from subsidized school meals to ensure they stay focused and well-nourished.

✅ Bursary Support: Every Form 4 day school student in Alego Usonga Constituency will receive a Ksh. 5,000 bursary, easing the financial burden on parents and guardians.

✅ Support for 47 Day Secondary Schools: To ensure accessible and quality education, the program will directly support all 47 day secondary schools in the constituency.

Alego Usonga NG-CDF is committed to ensuring inclusive, quality, and accessible education for all our students.

Hon. Samuel Onunga Atandi, the newly elected Chairperson of the Budget & Appropriations Committee, today visited the Cabinet Secretary for Defense, Hon. Soipan Tuya, at her office. The meeting was important for building a stronger relationship between the Committee and the Ministry of Defense, particularly in areas related to the allocation of resources and setting priorities for defense projects. The visit also helped strengthen the connection between the Ministry of Defense and Alego-Usonga Constituency. This relationship could lead to better security initiatives in the area, including the development of defense-related infrastructure, recruitment opportunities for local youth in the defense forces, and support for community security programs. These efforts are key to improving both the security and development of Alego-Usonga.

On the final day of the Piny Luo Festival 2024, the 20,000-seat Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Stadium in Siaya, which was being launched, was filled to capacity. Thousands of people attended the historic event to watch the football matches. The first match featured Bunge FC against Siaya County Assembly, followed by Gor Mahia FC versus Kitara FC from Uganda.

The memorable event was graced by HE. William Samoei Ruto , HE.Yoweri Kaguta Museveni,HE. Raila Odinga and other several leaders.

Congratulations to the Siaya County Assembly Football Team and Gor Mahia FC for their well-deserved victories.
