Detectives in Naivasha have arrested a 30-year-old nanny, Mary Chebet, the prime suspect in the brutal murder of her employer, Jane Wambui Njoroge.

Wambui Njoroge, a nurse at Naivasha Referral Hospital, was found dead on July 10, 2025, buried in a shallow grave behind her house in Karai area of Naivasha, Nakuru County.

Collins Kibet Moi, grandson of the late President Daniel Arap Moi, broke down in tears in a Nakuru courtroom after being sentenced to two weeks in jail for failing to pay child support.

The case was brought forward by his ex-wife, who accused Kibet of neglecting his financial responsibilities toward their child.

In a highly emotional plea before the magistrate, Kibet begged for leniency.

“I’m sick. I’ve tried. I’ve suffered since my father died. I have nowhere to live,” he said through tears. “I’ve asked for mercy. But no one has mercy anymore for an orphan. I’ve even appealed to the President of this country but no one can help me.”

Once a member of one of Kenya’s most powerful and influential families, Kibet now says he is homeless, unemployed, and struggling with illness a stark contrast to the privilege and status he once knew.

Hello NDN, am Shiko from Kabaru Kieni writing with tears on my eyes. I finished form 4 2 years ago still hopeful to join college. In the meantime, I have been assisting my parents with family chores and farming. So last year I went to visit my aunt who lives in Warazojet tunakuita (Jeti) Weh so nkipeleka maziwa asubuhi kwa dairy nkapata na Huyu chali mhandsome k**a Alehandro. This guy to start with with dark na Mimi huwa attracted to dark guys. I had not dated before so you can tell how Naive I was! So this guy took my no, and with no time, tukaanza ku date. So I used to wake up early nafanya kazi haraka haraka so that niende kulisha mbuzi za auntie, then we would meet there and have our precious time. Ikafika mahali I gave my all.... when mum called nirudi home, I still insisted nataka kusaidia auntie job. So for 3 months we enjoyed love. Nkaanza hadi kunona cos life ya mapenzi Ilikua mwaah! So this guy was from Kisii known as Moogaka! I would accompy him for football matches as far as Chaka and Narumoru...then he would take me home using a hired motorcycle. So it happened one day, my auntie went for a conference in Machakos, Mogaka had been insisting we take our relationship to the next level. So that weekend I informed Mogaaka my auntie had travelled. He immediately came for me using his Shinnary (Duthi) He put oil to put infact the sound of exhauster and the speed made me feel like a Queen in wakanda kingdom. Nkajua am the choosen one. That evening, Moogaka prepared me Ugali and meat of a chicken. I had never been treated with that love and respect. So then next minute, I found myself in bedroom and the next is history. The following morning nkaamshwa mapema ata sikunawa uso nkarudi auntie asirudi apate siyuko. I congratulated and hugged Mogaaka. He promised to love me and never cheat on me with village girls. Later the same day,my auntie returned but never noted I slept outside. It reached a point I could miss Mogaaka so much. One day he came for me and and I jumped from the window. Hiyo siku tukaenda kwake and I spent the night there. Asubuhi nkarudishwa 5 na nkaingilia bado kwa dirisha. The following month nkarudi kwetu Kabaru, Moogaka promised to stay faithful and not betray our love. I secured a job in Chaka town ya kwa Mpesa, nkafanya k**a 2 months then it happened nkawa conned so hio mwezi sikupata mshahara. So I decided nitembelee Moogaka by surprise ju tulikua tumekaa 2 months bila kuonana. I dint have enough fare. So nkabuy maziwa na mkate hio pesa nkaamua kutembea kwa shortcut. Kufika, I knocked but no one was opening the door. I knocked again and pushed the door, I found Mogaka and the love of his life sitting on his laps drinking tea. At first I thought it was a dream. I even cursed the day I was born. How could Moogaka betray our love and I was a real Kienyeji. I went straigh to my auntie place and refused to eat. Suddenly,I had a patting on my back......It was my auntie waking me to go look for Nappier grass! I jumped out of the bed like lack of importance! It was just a dream😂😂😂😂
