It is with heavy hearts that AKCMO joins the Community Media fraternity in Kenya in mourning Christine Akinyi. The cruel hand of death has robbed us of a dedicated and visionary champion of community engagement through radio.
We come together as one to pray for fortitude upon her family, friends and colleagues at KCOMNET, and the regional Community Media in general.
The Lord gives and the Lord takes. Praised be His name. Amen.

Akcmo chairman Daniel Waturu accompanied by Kelvin Nyangweso who double up as the finance officer, attended the third edition of Africa Media Festival in Nairobi. The forum was a great platform to discuss array of agendas including safety and security for journalists and more so their welfare.
Emerging issues in the newsroom like AI and ownership were part of the deliberations.

HISTORICAL MEETING!

Association of Kenya community media operators team led by Daniel Waturu (chairman) held a fruitful meeting with PS Kisiangani (Broadcast and Telecommunications).
The discussion touched on collaboration spaces and mostly how community radios can be a tool to disseminate government programs at the grassroot level.
