Good people, here’s some encouraging news for all of us from the National and County Governments Summit held on 10th December 2025. These decisions directly affect the services we receive in our communities, especially healthcare. Here’s what it means in simple terms:
🌸 1. Better care for mothers
The government is putting new plans in place to make maternity services at our local clinics and health centres safer, more affordable, and easier to access. This means mothers won’t have to struggle or travel far to get help.
🌿 2. Support for our Community Health Promoters (CHPs)
CHPs—the people who walk door to door helping families—will now be paid on time, get health insurance under SHA, and a plan is being made to place them on permanent and pensionable terms.
This is a big win for every village.
💼 3. County staff to be paid on time
The National Treasury will now release money earlier each month so doctors, nurses, and other county workers get their salaries without delays.
When health workers are supported, the whole system works better.
🏥 4. Counties to fully take charge of their services
All remaining devolved functions and assets will finally be transferred to county governments. This means quicker decisions, better management, and improved services for citizens.
🏗️ 5. Funds for county development to be released faster
Money for projects like County Aggregation and Industrial Parks will now be fast-tracked. These projects bring jobs and growth closer to the people.
♿ 6. Better medical support for Persons With Disabilities
The government is reviewing the law to make healthcare more friendly and affordable for people living with disabilities.

🇰🇪 In short: better healthcare, stronger support for CHPs, timely payments, faster development, and improved services for all Kenyans.
These are positive steps toward a healthier, more caring nation.
I support these steps.
